Jewelry holder

I love Pinterest, you can find some many great ideas on there. I pin lots of thing that I will never make but I like to pretend that I will, but when I saw this pin I knew I would actually make it.

It was love at first pin I'm also jealous of all her beautiful jewelry. It makes me stuff look like crap. So pinned in hopes that I would get around to making it. I then saw some selling this beauty on online.

I purchased it right away a steal at $15. Then I used the Martha Stewart paint samples that I had just purchases and painted it like lovely blue/green colour. Since my husband work for a wholesale company he literally has buckets of knobs and handles that have been discontinued for me to pick from.  I pretty happy with it, it removed all the clutter from my dresser and make me wear more jewelry.
I love it it is sooo pretty
Necklaces

Earring

Glasses

Rings and Bracelets

More watches

And it opens for storage inside all my other earring and other things I keep my brushes on the top.

I'm so happy with how it turned out and love the extra storage it creates for me instead of a mess on the top of my dresser.

Play Kitchen

I’m sure you have seen the play kitchen all over the internet made out of old entertainment centers. Well last spring I decided to make one.

It all started when I found an old set of Fisher Price play stove and sink toys at a garage sale for $1.00 each. The entertainment center I bought for $5.00 at another garage sale. Usually these types of things use bowls for a sink and have a painted on stove, which I love, but by not having to set the sink sunk in I was able to give us a storage drawer. My kids have a ridiculous number of play food and dishes so this has really helped with storage.

I forgot to take a lot of before pictures, but here is one after I tried to spray paint it. Let me tell you this- it took way more spray then I thought it would, so I gave up and used regular paint shortly after this picture was taken.

Spray painting was hard and not as quick as I wanted it to be.

Painting this sucked! It took so long and it was really hot. Also with all the stuff we added it made it really heavy. When I finally got it all painted my husband built a drawer to go under the sink and stove, put on the oven door and the fridge doors, then he screwed the sink and stove into place. The only part we were having trouble with was the microwave that I insisted it should have. We ending up finding one at Toys R' Us on clearance for $5.00, which probably saved us a lot of arguing over what my husband wanted to make and what I thought he should make.

This is what we ended up with. I'm pretty happy with it. The only thing missing is the piece of plastic in the oven which I have but haven't put in yet.

So that is the kitchen that I (and my husband) made for our kids. I'm not sure I would ever try this again as it was way more work than I thought, but I'm glad I did it. I love how it turned out.

Valentine's Day Wreath

I heart my door.

I made this a heart wreath forms, a box of staight pins, and 2 rolls of party streamers in pink and red.
I started by wrapping the wreath in the red streamers and then pinning the end so it would stay. Then I cut about 2 to 3 inch length of pink stream to make the roses. Making the roses for me was a lot of trail and erorr to see what I though looked good. Mostly when making them I folded the streamer in half length wise then rolled while folding down some corners. I might make another one this weekend and I with try to take some pictures of how I found worked best. Once I had a rose looking the way I wanted it to I stuck it on the wreath with a pin. It was pretty easy but it did take awhile to make the roses. I love that way it turned out it was just as a I pictured it in my head.

Flynn Ryder Costume

We lucky we get to have two Halloweens every year. Our second one is in the summer at the Lake where the kids go to each camp site trick or treating because what kid can't use more candy.

I love Halloween in the summer because Saskatachewan winter kinda limit what you can be for halloween because it needs to fit over a snowsuit.

My oldest Daughter is obessed with Tangled. She has 2 different Rapunzels dress I have made her. I'll post those later. So for halloween at the lake she convinced her little brother to be Flynn Ryder.

I love this costume it turned out so cute he only looks unhappy in this picture because he hates to have his picture taken.

It was so easy to make and he still wear's his boots when they play pretend in the house.

The vest was made from a super old pattern my Mom had laying around and some blue leather like material. We sewed the vest together and then added a collar by folding a scrap over the top edge of the vest.

For the belt I use one of my husband weave belt and wrapped it his waist and used a leather punch to make a hole where he needs one.

The boots were orginally black and $0.99 rubber boots I got the Vaule Village, I used Krylon Brown spray paint for plastics and then I cut a strip of felt and hand sewed it around the top.

Here is a picture of both of them Dressed up and a close of his boots.

Melted Crayon Art.

I'm sure you have seen this before but here is how I made mine.

I picked out my crayons and hot glued them in a line to my canvas, then I used a heat gun to melt them until I got my desired effect. Some on the dripping where lifting off the canvas so I then laid it flat and melted the dripping some more, and then done!

Eye Catching Halloween Wreath

So here is my Halloween wreath I love it even thought it's pretty large.

Here is what I started with.
I forgot to a picture of the eyeballs, but I got them from Dollarama they were attached to a chain I just pulled them off. The spiders are from Michaels.

I started by cutting my tulle in to 4" pieces I used both rolls you could make your strips smaller if you like, but then the wreath won't be as full.

Then I tied them on to the wreath in alternating colors.
Here is a another picture of it half done.

After I had the wreath all full I then hot glued on the spider web and the eye balls, the spider came with clips on the back so no need to glue them, and done!

Happy Halloween!
